You had to pay 50 paise, pick up any six discs and add up the numbers. The article marked with that number was yours. I wanted to try my luck. I paid 50 paise and tried it. My luck was not too good. I got two pencils. The shopkeeper bought them for 25 paise, I tried again and got an inkbottle. The shopkeeper bought that too for 25 paise. In the hope of winning a big prize, I tried my luck again and again till the last 50 paise disappeared.
I came back to my house and told the whole incident to my father. He patted me and said, "The man made a fool of you." He played tricks to tempt you.

Toto was a pretty monkey. His bright eyes sparkled with mischief beneath his eyebrows and his teeth, which were pearly white, were very often displayed in a smile. His hands looked dried-up but his fingers were quick and wicked. His tail, while adding to his good looks, also served as a third hand. He could use it to hang from a branch. Grandfather bought Toto from a tonga-driver for five rupees. Grandmother always fussed when grandfather brought home some new bird or animal. So it was decided that Toto's presence should be kept a secret from her until she was in a good mood. Grandfather and I put him away in a little closet opening into my bedroom wall, where he was tied securely.

On April 12, 2011, five dacoits entered a village in Odisha at night. The villagers were fast asleep, when the dacoits sneaked into the house of the Shandilyas and attacked the family. 10 year old Prasannata, who was fast asleep, woke up when she heard her father screaming. The dacoits had attacked her father with a sharp instrument. She saw her parents crying in pain. Without losing her cool Prasannata tiptoed into the kitchen. "I couldn't watch my parents in pain. I saw two jars containing chilli powder and the other turmeric. I didn't know which was what. So I mixed both and rushed back to the bedroom. I threw the powder into the eyes of the three dacoits," she said. By the time the dacoits could recover, Prasannata had called the police. Her proud parents said that they were surprised by their daughter's bravery. "We are proud of her," said Prasannata's father. Prasannata received the National Bravery Award in
January 2012. She wants to be an IPS Officer when she grows up.

Sonu: I'm sorry, he is not at home right now. I am his elder brother Sonu. Is there something important to convey him?
