Earlier, no one looked at tomatoes or carrots , but since it is now known that they are good for health , they have found a place on people’s dining tables.
Where apples are concerned , the saying – an apple a day keeps the doctor away- is becoming very popular . they are not only good to eat but are also beneficial for our health. They have also gained the approval of western health experts. I bought a few apples and moved on.
Next morning, as I got ready for breakfast , I took out one apple and found that part of the skin was discolored. I thought the shopkeeper must have missed the discoloration in the dark. I took out another apple and found that it was half rotten. The third apple wasn’t rotten but one side of it was completely squashed . The fourth apple seemed blemish-free but there was a small black hole in it. On cutting it open , I found the same spots as one finds in a fruit partly eaten by worms. I felt cheated.
