What is Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) exam?
According to the Right to Education Act, teachers need certain basic qualifications to teach school students from Class 1 to Class 8. The National Council for Teacher Education has created rules and have made a requirement that anyone who wants to become a teacher must pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). This test is run by the government following rules set by the National Council for Teacher Education. This requirement applies to all schools covered under the Right to Education Act. The Ministry of Education, Govt. of India has given the responsibility of conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) to the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi.

What is the structure of the CTET exam ?
All questions in CTET are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) which have four options and the candidate has to select on correct answer to get one mark. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
The CTET Exam has two papers which are as follows:
a)    Paper 1 is for anyone who wants to be a teacher for classes 1 to 5
b)    Paper 2 is for anyone who wants to be a teacher for classes 6 to 8
c)    Paper 1 and 2 has to be given by anyone who wants to be teacher for Class 1 to 8

More details on each subject for CTET
a)    Child Development and Pedagogy: This subject mainly focusses on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the students in age group of 6 to 11 years. The teachers will focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse students, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
b)    Language 1: The medium of instruction which is chosen by the teacher, this test is held to check the proficiency in the language
c)    Language 2: Focuses on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities. The candidate has to select a different language as compared to language 1 for this test.
d)    Mathematics and Science, and Social Studies/Social Science: Students are expected to know the concepts in detail along with really good problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding and applications of the subjects. Each of these topics will have 30 marks each, Maths 30 marks and Science 30 marks, therefore, the overall score will be out of 60 marks. 

What is the validity period of the CTET passing certificate?
The CTET qualifying certificate for appointment to teachers post is valid for the entire lifetime for all categories. How can I download my certificate and marksheet of CTET exam?
The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) mark-sheets will be provided by CBSE to all candidates along with eligibility certificates to successful candidates. These documents will be provided in Digital Format in the students DigiLocker accounts. These CTET mark sheets and eligibility certificates will be digitally signed and will be legally valid for all purpose. Students will also be able to access a QR code on the documents to get more information. The DigiLocker accounts of the all present candidates will be created and the account credentials will be conveyed to the candidates on their mobile numbers registered with CBSE.  It is important that all CTET students must have a digilocker account so that they can download digital marksheet and eligibility certificates using the communicated credentials.
