Subject- In a sentence, about whom we talk is called subject of the sentence.
Ex- Maya is singing a song. Here Maya is the subject of this sentence.

Predicate- In a sentence, what is said about the subject is called the predicate of the sentence.
Ex-Maya is singing a song. Here is singing a song is the predicate of this sentence. The verb always remains in the predicate part.

a. Mini and Nick are playing basketball.
Here Mini and Nick is the Subject while are playing basketball is the Predicate.

b. Who are you?
In this sentence, You is the Subject and Who are is the Predicate.
