Ans. The word law is derived from the Teutonic word ‘Lag’, which means ‘Definite’. Thus, we can say that Law means a Definite Rule.

Q 5. What do you mean by Impartial Judiciary?
Ans. Judiciary does not take side of any specific person. All the citizens are equal before law.

Q 7. What do you mean by supremacy of the constitution?
Ans. Constitution is the supreme law in India. All officers of our government take an oath of the supremacy of constitution while joining their offices. All
government and non-government organizations are being run according to the constitution.
 
Q 8. How was the constitution of India formed?
Ans. A seven member committee was framed under the leadership of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to form constitution. This committee studied and borrowed many principles from the constitutions of other countries. It took 2 years 11 months and 18 days to complete the Indian constitution.
 
Q 9. How has the judiciary been made impartial in India?
Ans. Many steps have been taken to make the judiciary independent and impartial such as appointment of judges, their salaries etc. have been fixed differently, than from the other government officials.

Ans. Gandhiji started Non-Cooperation Movement -1920; Civil Disobedience Movement- 1930 and Quit India Movement- 8 Aug 1942 against the British government.

Ans: The main idea of making the Constituent Assembly for framing the Constitution of India was devised by the Cabinet Mission Plan. The Constituent Assembly consisted of the elected representatives of various provinces who were eminent personalities in their own fields.

Ans:  A democracy means rule by the people. The name is used for different forms of the government where the people can take part in the decisions that affect the way their community is run. The people elect their leaders. These leaders take this decision about laws.

Ans: The Indian National Movement was an organised mass movement concerned with the interests of the people of India and affected by both internal and external factors. It led to the formation of Indian National Congress in 1885 and several revolts broke out across the country.
