• Time Allowed: 3 Hours. • Question Paper Structure: Divided into 5 Sections (A, B, C, D, and E) with 33 compulsory questions total. • Question Breakdown: → Section A (1 Mark each): 16 Questions (MCQs & Assertion-Reasoning types) → Section B (2 Marks each): 5 Questions (Very Short Answer) → Section C (3 Marks each): 8 Questions (Short Answer) → Section D (4 Marks each): 2 Questions (Case-based with sub-parts) → Section E (5 Marks each): 2 Questions (Long Answer with internal choices) Sample 2-Mark Question (Very Short Answer): Differentiate between microsporogenesis and megasporogenesis. What type of cell division occurs during these events?
Step-wise Marking Scheme:
• Definition/Difference (1.5 Marks): Microsporogenesis is the formation of microspores from a pollen mother cell (PMC) inside the pollen sac, whereas megasporogenesis is the formation of megaspores from a megaspore mother cell (MMC) inside the ovule. • Cell Division (0.5 Mark): Meiosis (reduction division) occurs in both processes to produce haploid spores. Sample 5-Mark Question (Long Answer): (a) Describe the process of double fertilization in angiosperms. (b) Draw a well-labeled diagram of a typical mature embryo sac and label any four parts.
