PROJECTION OF SOLIDS
1. A Hexagonal prism 25 mm side and axis length 70 mm rests on HP on one of its base edges such that its base is inclined 30° to HP. Draw its projections.
2. A hexagonal prism 25 mm base side and axis length 70 mm rest on HP on one of its base corners such that the axis of the prism is inclined 40° to HP. Draw its projections.
3. Draw the projections of a pentagonal prism, base 30mm sides and axis 60mm long, resting on one of its rectangular faces on the ground, with the axis inclined at 45° to the VP.
4. A cone of diameter of base 60 mm and the axis 50 mm long is lying on the HP on one of its generators. The top view of the axis is inclined at 45° to the XY line. Draw the projections of the cone
5. A hexagonal pyramid, base 35mm side and height 60mm is resting on HP one of its base edges. The axis of the pyramid is inclined at 45° to the HP and the base edge on which it is resting is inclined at 60° to the VP. Draw the projections of the hexagonal pyramid.
6. A circular disc of diameter 60 mm has a central rectangular hole of size 20 mm X 30 mm. It is resting on HP in such a way that the diagonals of the hole appear perpendicular and parallel to XY line and as square of 20 X 20 mm. draw the projections.
7. A pentagonal prism, base 40 mm side and height 65 mm is resting on HP on one of its base edges. The rectangular face containing the base edge on which the prism resting is inclined at 45° to HP. The same base edge is inclined at 30° to VP. Draw the projections of the prism.
8. A square pyramid, side of base 30 mm and length of axis 56 mm is held such that its vertex is in HP and is 48 mm in front of VP. One of its slant edges is vertical and triangular face bounded by the slant edge is perpendicular to the VP. Draw the projections of the pyramid.
9. A pentagonal prism is resting on a corner of its base on the ground, with a longer edge containing that corner is inclined at 45° to the HP and the vertical plane containing that edge and the axis inclined at 30° to the VP. Draw the projections of the prism. Base of the prism = 45 mm and height = 65mm.
10. A right regular tetrahedron, edge of base 30 mm, is resting on the ground on one of its corners of the base such that an slant edge containing that corner is inclined at 45° to the VP. Draw its projections.
11. A square pyramid, base 40 mm and axis 60 mm long is freely suspended from one of the corners of its base. Draw its projections, when the top view of the axis makes an angle of 45° to the VP.
12. A square prism, base 40 mm side and height 65 mm is resting on HP on one of its base edges. The axis of the prism is inclined at 45° to the HP and the base edge, on which it is resting is inclined at 30° to the VP. Draw the projections of the square pyramid. The base is kept nearer to VP.
13. Project the front view and top view of the frustum of a pentagonal pyramid of base edge 25 mm, top edge 15 mm and height of frustum 40 mm with its axis parallel to vertical plane, one of base edge perpendicular to the vertical plane and the face on this base edge vertical. (Hint: vertical means the face bounded by that edge is perpendicular to VP)
14. A cube of side 45 mm is kept on HP with one of its corners and the diagonal of the cube containing that corner is perpendicular to HP with vertical edges parallel to VP. Draw the projections of the cube.
15. A square prism, base 40 mm side and height 65 mm is resting on HP on one of its base edges. The axis of the prism is inclined at 45° to the HP and the base edge on which it is resting is inclined at
30° to VP. Draw the projections of the square prism.
16. A right circular cone, diameter of base 50 mm and height 65 mm rests on its base rim on HP with its axis inclined at 45° to HP such that a) top view of the axis inclined at 30° to VP.
b) Axis inclined at 30° to VP. c) Axis appeared to be inclined at 30° to VP in the top view.
d) A vertical plane containing the axis is inclined at 30° to VP. Draw its projections in each case.
(Hint: Take apparent angle only in second case)
17. A right regular pentagonal pyramid edge of base 30 mm and axis 65 mm long is held on VP on one of its edges such that a plane containing the edge and axis of the pyramid is perpendicular to VP and inclined at 45° to HP. Draw the front view and top view of the pyramid when the vertex is kept towards the HP.
18. A hemisphere of radius 20 mm is resting on HP on one of its circumferential points of its flat face such that a flat face is inclined 30° to HP. Draw its projections.
19. Draw the projections of cube when it’s solid diagonal perpendicular to VP. 20. Draw the projections of a cylinder of diameter 50 mm and axis height 70 mm when its rests on HP on one of the points of the base circle, axis is inclined 35° to HP and 40° to VP. The base is kept nearer to VP.
21. Three equal spheres of 38 mm diameter are resting on HP so that each touches the other two and the line joining the centers of two of them is parallel to VP. A fourth sphere of 50 mm diameter is placed on top of three spheres so as to form a pile. Draw the front view, top view and left side view of the arrangement.
