Ans. Ibrahim Lodhi, the Sultan of Delhi Sultanate, ill-treated Daulat Khan Lodhi, the governor of Punjab. Therefore, Daulat Khan Lodhi and Rana Sanga invited Babar to attack India to end Ibrahim Lodhi’s rule.
Question. What do you know about Babar’s conquests?
Ans. Babar defeated Ibrahim Lodhi in the first battle of Panipat in 1526. He defeated Rajput ruler Rana Sanga in the battle of Kanwah in 1527 A.D. He also defeated Afgans.
Question. Write about the conquests of Akbar?
Ans. Akbar defeated Hemu in the second battle of Panipat in 1556 and reoccupied Agra and Delhi. He annexed many Rajput states, Bihar- Bengal, Khandesh, Gujrat etc.
Question. What do you mean by the agrarian system of the Mughals?
Ans. land revenue was the main source of the Mughal Empire. Raja Todar Mal was the revenue minister of Akbar. Akbar measured and classified the whole land into four types:-
1. Polaj Land: - This was the most fertile land. Therefore, any crop could be sown.
2. Parauti land: - It was cultivated after 1-2 Years.
3. Chhachhar Land: - it was cultivated after 3-4 years.
4. Barren Land: - it was cultivated after 5 or more years.
