Answer. Chart is an effective way to display data in a pictorial form. Charts make it easier to draw comparison and analyse the growth, relationship and trends among the values in a range. Charts provides more accurate analysis of information.

Answer. The CPU (Central Processing Unit ) is the process or brain of the computer . It makes calculations and processes data into information. The CPU controls all input and output devices and consists of 3 units-
(a) ALU- Arithmetic Logic Unit performs the tasks of arithmetical calculations and logical operations.
(b) CU- Control unit controls all operations of the computer.
(c) MU- Memory unit is used to receive hold and deliver data as per the instructions from the control unit.

Question. What are the two types of software of a computer system ?
Answer. Software is classified into 2 categories –
(a) SYSTEM SOFTWARE - This type of software performs the basic functions that are important to operate a computer system .The operating system is an example of system software.
(b) APPLICATION SOFTWARE- This consists of sets of programs that are used to do specialized tasks including payroll, inventory, spreadsheets, desktop publishing etc.

Answer. In a computer database, the data is stored in form of bits and bytes.
BIT- A bit is the short form of Binary Digit (the digit 0 and 1)
BYTE- 8 bits together form a byte .
FIELD – A field refers to a collection of bytes that include a certain item of information about a thing .eg-name of a bank , its address etc.
RECORD – A record is a collection of related fields. Eg- a record about a student may include fields such as their name, address, aggregate marks , attendance etc.
FILE- File is a collection of records .eg- a collection of all records of students applying for a particular course, etc.
DATABASE- A database refers to the collection of all files in an organization . eg- files of clients, and staff of a bank make the bank’s database.

Answer. Three problems that we can face while working on system ,with their solutions are-
(a) Computer is not turning ON- Check all the power supply plugs . Keep the Monitor switch ON.
(b) Mouse /Keyboard is not working – Check to ensure that mouse/keyboard connections are properly attached .Check if the keyboard has got stuck.
(c) Keyboard is typing in Capital letters only – Check if the shift key has got stuck or the Caps Lock Key is on.
