For this, they employed people from nearby villages where very less job opportunities are available. An employee, Harish designed a plan for cost reduction but it was not welcomed by the production manager. Another employee gave some suggestions for improvements in design, but it was also not appreciated by the production manager.

2 Mr. Rohan, the CEO of Rollar Ltd. believes in having empowered subordinates who can take their own decisions. He only facilitates them when required. Which style of leadership is displayed by Mr. Rohan?
3 Manvendra always went to a specific shop to buy all consumable and non- consumable goods. In this shop, a variety of products of different brands were displayed nicely and the sales person available also gave good presentations when required. But this shop was quite far-off from his residence. His friend Anand always wondered why Manvendra wastes so much time in going to that shop whereas there were many big brand shops situated near his residence having consumable and non-consumable goods.
Anand asked Manvendra the reason of going to that particular shop. Manvendra told that he was exercising one of his rights which he could not exercise in the nearby big brand shops.
State the consumer's right which Manvendra has exercised.

5 ABC Ltd. issued prospectus for the subscription of its shares for 500 crores in 2008. The issue was oversubscribed by 20 times. The company issued shares to all the applicants on pro-rata basis. Later SEBI inspected the prospectus and found some misleading statement about the management of the company in it. SEBI imposed a penalty of 5 crores and banned its three executive directors from dealing in securities market for three years.

7 Sirajuddin purchased a car for 15 lakhs from an automobile company and found that its airbags were defective. After many complaints with the company that went unheard, he filed a case in the District Forum. He was not satisfied with the orders of the District Forum. He then appealed before the State Commission and on being dissatisfied with the orders of State Commission, he appealed before the National Commission. Sirajuddin was not satisfied with the orders of National Commission.
Suggest him the highest authority where he could appeal against the decision of the National Commission.

9 Mahesh bought a Refrigerator worth Rs. 35,000 from Gauri Electronics. In order to avoid the payment of taxes, he did not take a Cash Memo from the dealer. Before beginning to use, he did not bother to read the instruction manual. Immediately after 2 months the refrigerator developed some defects. Although it was in warranty period still the dealer refused to entertain his complaint. He approached a lawyer to file a case but he also refused as Mahesh did not have the cash memo.
(a) Do you think that Mahesh was a responsible consumer? Give reason by quoting the lines.
(b) State the authority, under the Consumer Protection Act, where the complaint could have been filed by Mahesh if he had been a responsible consumer.
10 A company which had been in the business of manufacturing decorative lamps. Suddenly started facing the problem of high employee turnover. Mr. Tejas, the Human Resource Manager identified that employees were not getting sufficient time to interact with each other and there were too many restrictions on them. Also, he found that the employees felt that their work is not given due recognition due to which they do not feel like working there. To retain the efficient employees and to keep them on high spirit, Mr.Tejas, formed a Whatsapp group including all the employees. Every month Mr.Tejas would post the name of 'The Employee of the Month' in the group and everbody posted their comments in praise of that employee. They were also free to discuss their other issues in the group that created a climate where they developed faith and respect for each other.

11 'Ekta Motors' had set an objective of selling 1200 cars per year. Mrs. Chawla is the Managing Director of this organisation. With a view to achieve this objective, she worked hard to formulate plans. But at the end of the year it came to light that hardly 870 cars could be sold. She compared the expected and actual results and began to seek the causes of this deviation. She arrived at the conclusion that the goodwill of the organisation had suffered because of the negligence of the Service Division. She then took a firm decision to improve the performance level of the service division at all costs.

12 Aryan Industries manufactures plastic goods. It has plans to enter the international market. For this it has hired the services of professionals who are going to help them in planning by collecting facts and figures, conducting surveys, etc. The professionals studied the demand pattern of people in some countries, their occupations and the literacy rate. They also tried to study the Export Import (EXIM) Policy of not only our country but the other countries so as to estimate its possible impact on the company's future plans. A lot of money was spent on all this and the management feared that the costs may exceed the gains. Finally, a comprehensive plan stating the objectives, budget involved, policies and procedures to be followed was laid down.

15 Two money market instruments are issued by commercial banks in order to meet their funds requirement. They differ on the basis of their maturity period as well as the objective behind raising funds. State and explain the money market instruments.
16 Resolutions Pvt. Ltd. is a publishing company. Its book on Business Studies for class XII is in great demand. As a result, the employees in the marketing department are always racing against time. The employees have to work overtime and on holidays to cater to the demand. Managers in the marketing department are under stress as they have to handle more than two territories. The work stress has led to dissatisfaction among the employees and managers.
